Home visits
We encourage patients to come to the practice if at all possible so we can deliver optimal care with full access to practice facilities and equipment.
Regular patients who are unable to attend the surgery because of their debilitating condition will be referred to their usual doctor who will assess the request on its merits and make appropriate arrangements in each case.

In the event of an emergency, please call 000 for an ambulance. If you need to contact a doctor after hours, please ring 5672 4111.
Repeat prescriptions
Prescriptions for some medicines taken regularly
may
be obtained from your doctor but each request will be considered on an individual basis.
Agreement to issue a repeat prescription without consultation will
not
automatically mean this will be repeated at the next request. Requests can be made by phone, letter or calling at the surgery. Twenty-four hours notice should be given.
Results of medical tests
To obtain the results of any tests, please make a further appointment with your doctor.
Please ask the doctor at the time of your appointment,
how long it will take for these results to be received by the clinic
so that a convenient appointment time can be made.
To maintain confidentiality, results will
not
be given over the phone except in special circumstances.
Recall system
All patients are enrolled in our Recall Reminder System. This is a computer generated Reminder System.
Patients are consulted before their participation is confirmed.
National/State Reminder Systems/Registers
Patients are asked on registration whether or not they give permission to be part of these systems/registers. This is noted on the patients’ record.
Medical Records
We operate a computer based medical record system. Should any of your personal details, address, etc. change, please ask to have your records amended on arrival.
Please make sure that your Medicare card is valid and up to date.
Fees
South Gippsland Family Medicine bulk bills all Medicare enrolled patients. Non-Medicare items are privately charged and payment is expected on the day.
Each doctor sets his or her own fees independently.
Cash, cheque and eftpos (including credit card) will be accepted.
The Medicare rebate is determined by the Government and does not reflect the rising capital costs associated with medical practice.
Each doctor at this Centre runs his or her own practice and is not in partnership with the other practitioners.
