The Perinatal Support Program is part of the ATAPS (Access to Allied Psychological Services/ Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care) program that was introduced by the Federal Government in 2008 and is designed to improve prevention, early detection of and intervention for ante and post natal depression and provide better support and treatment to expectant mothers. The General Practice Alliance South Gippsland manages the program on behalf of the Federal Government.
